Kim - a big part of the team

Employed 3 days a week at The Bridge Works since February, Kim really enjoys being part of a team working on different jobs and getting to know her co-workers.

Kim’s story begins when she was part of a group of students from Noble Park SDS who participated in work experience in October 2012. Thoroughly enjoying the experience, Kim hoped to gain employment with Works, and while waiting for a vacancy she attended social and leisure activities with her friends at The Bridge Connects.

When a vacancy became available, Kim commenced a work trial. Excited to have this opportunity, from the very fi rst day it was clear that Kim was eager to learn new skills and would be a very valuable part of the team. Shy at first, Kim would take every opportunity to observe how a job was done and pick up new work skills quickly. Almost 10 months into her position at Works, Kim is a confi dent and an asset to the team. Productive, professional and with a caring smile, Kim is a fantastic worker and we are pleased that she chose to join the crew here at The Bridge Works.

Cassie

A place where Cassie feels important

‘Our daughter Cassandra has been attending The Bridge Works for over two years now, beginning with work experience from her final year at school. From the moment I entered the building, greeted by the most sincere and committed Sandra, the team leader of a wonderful group of individuals who come together on a daily basis to deliver an exceptional service to the participants and the surrounding community, we knew that this was the place for Cassie. Sandra and her team provide a loving and supportive environment, a place where new skills are acquired and expected, where growth is evident consistently, a place where Cassie feels like she is an important and contributing member of the team. She wakes up every morning with a smile on her face looking forward to the day ahead. We have noticed so many changes in Cassie since joining Works, they have undoubtedly assisted her in reaching her potential and we look forward to many years ahead with great anticipation and excitement as to what the future will bring for Cassie.’
